- Developed methodology (Monte Carlo simulation and elicitation of expert judgment) for the U.S. Geological Survey’s recent assessments of oil and gas resources in northern Alaska, including the National Petroleum Reserve Alaska and the 1002-Area of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
- Developed and applied geostatistical methods for the U.S. Geological Survey’s 2000 National Coal Resource Assessment.
- Leader in the development of discovery process models to estimate undiscovered oil and gas resources.
- Chaired an advisory panel to the Energy Information Agency of the Department of the Interior.
